The Government of India has adopted "Make in India" as the keyword for bringing in foreign investments to India and to make available sufficient jobs for Indians. It is evident that this brings about the important role that the materials have to play in this endeavour as any manufacturing attempt uses them. It is on this line that the Department of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering decided to conduct an international symposium as a part of its Golden Jubilee Celebration with the above-mentioned title.
The invited speakers have been selected in such a way that their talks will focus on variety of industrial and research problems related to metallurgical and materials industries. Those materials will be of interest to industry and our research graduates, which have the potential to take the innovation to a higher level in the metallurgical and materials area and benefit to our present industries.
Therefore this symposium will be of immense benefit to industry and research graduates. Apart from the materials of current and future applications, there will be discussion on innovative materials. To know more about the present works on materials, there will also be contributory papers from various authors. Thus, this symposium is highly important for industries and research graduates.
